| Peace was started by 25 families in 1961 and has grown to 255 households
(883 baptized souls and 582 confirmed members) in 2007. The congregation
was founded in southeast Neenah under the leadership of Rev. Ken Wessel,
who served the congregation faithfully until his retirement in 1988.
Land was purchased at our present site along South Park Avenue in August
1961. Then, just a farm field with much promise, the church has gone through two major building programs that have seen the completion
of the present beautiful 350 seat sanctuary in 1976. The dreams of
its early members to have a church among the southern suburbs of Neenah
has been fully realized; especially with the recent construction and
building. After the retirement of Pastor Wessel in 1988, Peace called the Rev. Terry Ahlemeyer of Springfield, IL to be its pastor. Pastor Ahlemeyer has watched the continued growth of the congregation after his installation in August 1988. The congregation has a very active and innovative young peoples' ministry and Sunday School under the leadership of its Lay Director, Anne Wilson. |
