Peace Lutheran Church began with a meeting of 36 people to investigate
the organization of a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Neenah on September
28, 1960.
The congregation was organized December 28, 1960, and the Rev. Kenneth
Wessel accepted the call to serve as first pastor and was installed
on February 19, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church, located in Menasha.
The first worship services were held March 12, 1961 in the Neenah
Recreation Building with 78 attending. The first Sunday School classes
began with 16 children and 17 adults on April 2, 1961.

Dedication of church and facilities.
April 28, 1974
Construction of new sanctuary and facilities approved.

Ground broken for new construction.

Dedication of new (present) church and facilities.
April 13, 1980
Addition of full-time staff member, Director of Christian Education,
Craig Matthews, installed.
June 1988
Pastor Wessel retires.
August 16, 1988
Pastor Terry Ahlemeyer installed as new Pastor of Peace.
September 1990
Deb Schafer named first Lay Director of Youth and Sunday School.
September 1991
Anne Wilson named Lay Director of Youth and Sunday School.
May 12, 1996
Groundbreaking for construction of expanded and updated facilities.
February 9, 1997
Dedication of enlarged facilities.
October, 2009
Pastor Ahlemeyer retires.
October, 2010
Pastor Ricky Schroeder installed as new pastor of Peace.
